Both club and overall numbers were down on the previous record field at Temple Newsam and unfortunately we were unable to improve on 7th place for the 4th consecutive time. Lyndon Bilton was our first home in 26th spot followed by our 2 second claimers Steve Wigglesworth and Aiden Ball. Steve manged to turn the tables on Aiden to be the one to count for the team this time. Our latest male recruit, Craig Daniels did really well in his first ever XC, being our 4th home. Our other scorers were Rob Sproston, Trevor Nichol, Adrian Leach, Graham Charnock and Ian Hill

Whilst not a record turnout either for the series or the club, we still had 30 make the journey to North Leeds to enjoy a crisp, sunny morning. The course is harder than at first envisaged with five short steep ascents in the 3 lap course Conditions underfoot were quite good for XC running although the remnants of an over-night frost left a few slippy areas on the first lap. The good news...no fallers this time!
Those who went for the after race food were treated to excellent fare, primarily the pie and peas!
Entries for the ladies race was only marginally down on the last race and we had another good turnout of 14 (or is that 14 and a little, thanks to Vicky Burrows-Bilton?) Liz Burrows and Karen Ball again performed brilliantly finishing in 8th and 9th respectively. Liane Warren and Gail Wrangles put in their usual good performances finishing 3rd/4th for the team. Pat Wood had an outstanding run to become our final team scrorer. The team were again well supported by our other regulars. Nicola Ward, our newest club member, ran in her first XC and enjoyed the pie and peas afterwards!

We slipped down to 10th spot with a lack of runners in the 50-59 category (Ian and Stewart had to apply heavy make-up!)

Emily Owen rose to the challenge set by Mel & Tim and had her best run of the series to earn a treat at Xscape. She lies in second place at the present time and is only one of two in her category to run in all 4 races.
