Most runners like to compete in races. Those new to the sport tend to have the London Marathon, Great North Run or major charity run as their first goal, but there is an abundance of road and trail races within reasonable travelling distances and at much less cost. You will find a list of popular and sometimes newly 'discovered' events along with members success stories, personal and season's best times etc.
Training is never easy, especially by yourself. Running with Ackworth is more enjoyable, more successful , safer and with lower race entry fees!
The place to find stats galore about who ran where and when , how fast, their position, where they stand in the clubs rankings etc. There is also a link to the Club's Grand Prix home page - with current league positions and race details.
Each year the club holds it's own competitions for members only, in addition to inter-club competition and promoting our own open race open to anyone (The Priory 5). We also organise excursions or long weekends to attend more distant races and sometimes international races! This page has links to full reports, photographs and sometimes video.
Not surprisingly this is where we put anything else of interest to club members, including a 'games' section to pass away the time!. This page is still being developed
